USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory geologist Don Swanson will discuss finding lava in some unexpected places on Kilauea and what these unusual eruptions tell us about the volcano.
The public is invited to the program in the University Classroom Building, Room 100, at 200 W. Kawili St. in Hilo. Admission is free.
This presentation is one of many being offered during Hawaii Island’s fourth annual Volcano Awareness Month. Details of the January schedule are posted on the HVO website at www.hvo.wr.usgs.gov.
